Sujan Dangol, deelnemer aan de tentoonstelling From Burning Rice Fields to Urban Growt, geeft een workshop mandala maken voor belangstellenden.

Artist Sujan Dangol from Nepal will tell us about the meaning and the importance of the Mandala in the Kathmandu valley, in relation to his work in the exhibition; following this he will guide us in making a Mandala. Each participant can make a small personal Mandala during this workshop.

Here is the special list of materials for the participant’s workshop:
Ideas to bring with you:
– Candies and sweets – the colored ones!
– Any type of grains available at home
– different plastic or metallic bottle caps
– Plastic things: recycled plastic pens or other small stationery items
– Disposable plastic bags
– Wooden twigs, (a lot, no longer than 6 inches =  15 cm)
– Dry leaves, dried or fresh flowers
– Photographs that are meaningful to you, featuring people or friends
– Recycled cloth pieces (in different shapes such as squares, circles, rectangles, or thin strips; these can be prepared in advance)
– Memorable items or accessories you would like to incorporate into the artwork (such as a pencil box, scissors, makeup tools – optional)
– 10 pieces of colorful A4 paper
– One or two cardboard boxes per participant, so you have material to use!

Tools:
– Scissors, knife
– camera

Sujan said: ‘We will share this list with the participants so they can check which materials are available in their surroundings. They do not need to bring all the listed items; they should aim to bring at least seven different items’
